How to get to automatica

To facilitate and support travel arrangements of all attendees, this section provides extensive and relevant information on how to travel to automatica in Munich.

The following is a compilation of all useful information that visiting professionals and exhibitors from all industries should consider when making their travel plans and arrangements: We have covered every option from flights, train connections and road traffic to public transport infrastructure.

Mask obligation in public transportation: When traveling by public transportation (subway, streetcar, bus, train), passengers to Messe München must wear an FFP2 oder KN95 protection mask. The mask obligation applies in all vehicles, but not in the stations. More information: Notes on the coronavirus (MVG)

By public transportation

Quick and environmentally friendly: The U2 subway (U-Bahn) line, station “Messestadt Ost" gives you direct access to the East Entrance. Then follow the signs. The East and Northeast entrances are open for automatica 2020.

Please note that your automatica ticket does not entitle you to use any public transport operated by MVV (Munich Transport and Tariff Association) free of charge.

By car

The trade-fair center is located directly on the A 94 motorway—reach it by taking the exit München-Riem (Exit Nr. 5). The parking spaces are well signposted on site via a traffic guidance system. The East and Northeast entrances are open for automatica 2020.

By train

Taking the train to Munich to attend automatica is convenient, safe and environmentally friendly. It takes just 20 minutes to get from the Central Train Station to the trade-fair center (U2 subway (U-Bahn) line, station "Messestadt Ost" gives you direct access to the East Entrance). Then follow the signs. The East and Northeast entrances are open for automatica 2020.

Airport shuttle bus

Our coaches run every 20 minutes, operating non-stop between the airport and automatica trade fair. Each one-way trip takes less than 45 minutes.

From the airport to the fair
There are two departure points at Munich Airport: Terminal 2 (bus park) and the Central Concourse (MAC). Please follow the signs.

From the fair to the airport
Coming from Messe München, the bus departs as of 9:40 a.m. hourly (10:40 a.m., 11:40 a.m., ...) at the Entrance West, last time at 18:40 (or 19:00 at the Entrance West) and stop exclusively at the Central Concourse (MAC), from where both terminals are just a few minutes' walk away.
