Exclusive market insights—including networking lunch
A market and its opportunities: Spotlight India provides information on developments in the Indian manufacturing sector, analyzes its potential, and, thanks to its workshop-like character, offers the perfect environment for in-depth discussions and extensive network-ing. The participants: exhibitors of automatica, World of Photonics, and World of Quantum. Declared goal: intensifying Indo-European trade relations. Joining us: Shatrughna Sinha, Indian Consul General in Munich.
The two-hour Spotlight India exhibitor event on Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 10:30 onwards will offer information and opportunities for interaction. The event is hosted by VDMA Robotics + Automation and Messe München International in cooperation with VDMA India and brings together key decision-makers from the European robotics and automation sector to discuss the opportunities offered by the Indian market. Please note: Participation requires prior registration.
With its fast-growing industrial base and its strong Industry 4.0 adoption momentum, India is in the process of becoming a global innovation center. The Indian manufacturing sector is valued at more than 460 billion Euros and is expected to reach a valuation of 920 billion Euros by 2028 thanks to automation, AI, and digital transformation. According to the IFR (International Federation of Robotics), demand for robots will continue to increase, especially in the automotive, electronics, and logistics sectors.
The long-standing trade relations between India and the European Union were valued at 124 billion Euros in 2023—with Germany being India's largest trading partner in the EU. The cooperation has a primary focus on sectors such as mechanical engineering, automotive, electrical equipment, and industrial automation—all key topics of automatica.
That makes Spotlight India the most important platform for strengthening Indo-European industrial relations. And the ideal place for anyone looking to tap into new sales markets. After all, the manufacturing sector plays a particularly pivotal role in driving India towards a 5 trillion dollar economy.
The event is kicked off with a market presentation on the status quo. Where is robotics and automation demand headed? What challenges and opportunities are there? What trends are observed in key customer sectors such as automotive, machine tools, and packaging?
This is followed by a panel discussion on ‘Digital Transformation: Smart Manufacturing Ecosystem Design in India’. Here, industry leaders will share their knowledge of production, innovation, and global competitiveness from an Indian perspective.
The subsequent networking lunch provides plenty of opportunities for in-depth discussions, networking, and initiation of new business. Please refer to the preliminary program for further details:
