Science Communicator, Vice-President of Women in AI & Robotics Germany at Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR)
Lioba Suchenwirth is the Press & Public Relations Office at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) Institute of Robotics & Mechatronics. She is also Vice President of Women in AI & Robotics. Lioba has successfully managed PR campaigns and gained exposure at National Geographic, BBC, NBC, Reuters, Wired magazine, Der Spiegel and Die Zeit. Before joining the German Aerospace Center (DLR), she has worked as a journalism lecturer and researcher at the University of Lincoln and as a public relations coordinator for Amnesty International in Vienna. As a freelance news reporter and researcher, she has travelled extensively across Central America, Mexico and Europe, writing and producing for media outlets in Germany, Austria, the UK and Norway. As the Vice-President of Women in AI & Robotics, Lioba is heavily supporting and promoting the increase of women in AI & Robotics at the Institute of Robotics & Mechatronics through various initiatives such as hosting the annual "Meet a DLR Scientist" event for International Women's Day. Lioba also mentors many women in the community.
