The most important
robotics conference worldwide "ISR/ROBOTIK 2010" is taking place for
the second time within the framework of AUTOMATICA. The participants at the
conference, composed of the International Symposium on Robotics 2010 (ISR) and
ROBOTIK 2010, will meet at the International Congress Center (ICM) on the
grounds of the New Munich Trade Fair Centre 7 to 9 June 2010. AUTOMATICA,
International Trade Fair for Automation and Mechatronics, will take place in
the directly adjacent trade fair halls from 8 to 11 June 2010.
The international robotics organization International
Federation of Robotics (IFR) decided in favor of AUTOMATICA. As a result, the
"Who is Who" of the international robotics community from research
and industry will meet in Munich: on one hand, to share results related to
actual practice, and on the other hand to show the world's greatest range of
robotics offers and comprehensive automation solutions at the trade fair.
The goal of
the conference is to provide an international platform for researchers,
developers and manufacturers. The speakers will present results and product
novelties from the areas of service and industry robotics, components and
accessories. The talks cover the areas of technological challenges and
solutions, new trends and automation potential. During the symposium,
participants have the chance to discuss with colleagues from research and development
as well as to share ideas with experts from the robotics industry about
automating their production. The conference ticket is also valid for visiting
AUTOMATICA.
Approximately
80 speakers and 200 participants from throughout the whole world are expected.
Prof. Rolf
Dieter Schraft, Institute Director (retired) of the Fraunhofer Institute for
Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA) and head of the organizing
committee of ISR/ROBOTIK 2010:
"The conference is a lot more than just the leading event of robotics
research and science. It is distinguished by its popularity in and
participation by industry. All leading robot manufacturers will be on hand in Munich in June 2010. It
is quite simply the meeting place for the robotics industry worldwide."
Interested
specialists from industry and research can obtain information online about the
symposium topics at
www.ifr.org. The precise
deadline for the call for papers will be announced later.
Within the
framework of the 41st International
Symposium of Robotics 2010, the renowned Engelberg Robotics Award will be
presented. The award ceremony will take place during a gala dinner on 8 June
2010. The award is considered the highest distinction in the industry
internationally. It is presented annually to individuals for their outstanding
work in technological research, development or applications. The nomination
phase for the Engelberg Robotics Award has already started. The US American
Robotic Industries Association (RIA) provides information about how to get
documents for this at
www.robotics.org.
Norbert Bargmann, Managing Director of Messe München, believes that
the site of Munich
has been strengthened by the decision of the IFR. "As a result, the
current situation and the future of robotics will be discussed next door to
AUTOMATICA, the largest robot trade fair in the world. Manufacturers have been
committed to their trade fair since the first AUTOMATICA. Thanks to the meeting
of the leading thinkers from research and development in ICM on one hand and
industry at AUTOMATICA on the other hand, Munich
will be the most important meeting place for the international robotics
industry in 2010."
The International
Symposium on Robotics (ISR), the most renowned international specialist
conference for robotics, has been taking place in a different country of the
world every year since 1970. The event is held under the auspices of the International Federation of Robotics
(IFR). The German Engineering Federation (VDMA) Robotics + Automation is in
charge of organizing the ISR.
ROBOTIK 2010 is the largest specialist conference for robotics in Germany. It
takes place every two years, and its industry adviser and supporter is the
German Society for Robotics (DGR).
DGR and VDMA
Robotics + Automation, the two sponsors of the conferences, are collaborating
in organizing the double conference. The holder of the event is the Information
Technology Society (ITG) in the German
Association for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies (VDE).
The Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA) is
in charge of managing the scientific aspects of the ISR conference, and DGR is responsible for management of ROBOTIK 2010:

Trade Fair for Automation and Robotics AUTOMATICA is the international trade fair that brings
together all areas of robotics and automation under one roof. It has
been held
every two years at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre since 2004. The aim
of the
fair is to present the entire value-added chain in robotics and
automation. The
industry-driven concept for AUTOMATICA has been developed by Messe
München GmbH
and the conceptual sponsor of the fair, the robotics and automation
division of
Germany´s engineering federation (VDMA). Exhibitor and visitor
statistics for
the AUTOMATICA trade fair are audited by an accountant on behalf of the
Gesellschaft zur Freiwilligen Kontrolle von Messe- und
Ausstellungszahlen
(FKM, Society for Voluntary Control of Fair and Exhibition Statistics).
AUTOMATICA is a 'UFI approved' international event, a certification
awarded by
the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.
About Messe München International (MMI) Messe München International (MMI) is one of the world´s leading trade-fair
organisers. It organises around 40 trade fairs for capital and consumer goods,
and key high-tech industries. Each year over 30,000 exhibitors from more than
100 countries, and over two million visitors from more than 200 countries take
part in the events in Munich.
In addition, MMI organises trade fairs in Asia, Russia,
the Middle East and South America. With six
subsidiaries abroad - in Europe and in Asia -
and with 66 foreign representatives serving 89 countries, MMI has a truly
global network.
